Job Title: Inside Sales Representative
Reports To: National Sales Manager
Position is: Salary Plus Commission

Pay Structure:

Base Salary: $35-$45K (depending on degree type) plus monthly commissions on percentage of gross sales. $60K+ earning potential first year

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the successful Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for supporting and working with the outside sales team and administrative staff. Microbiology International sells a wide range of microbiology related consumable products, capital equipment and services to industries including: food, pharmaceutical, universities and contract laboratories. This position requires an energetic, professional, self-directed individual to ensure sales growth consistent with our business plan, lead follow-up, initiate cold calls to prospective customers, generate sales of new products while maintaining current projects, perform pre-sales activities including quotes, supplying marketing material and closing sales transactions while developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Other responsibilities include presenting in-house product demos for end-users and will attend trade shows.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inside sales including processing sales leads, customer follow-ups on product requests, generating quotes, performing cold calls and processing completed orders for products and services
  • Drive sales growth of consumable products
  • Communicate with prospective & existing customers on all products and services offered, emphasizing product features and benefits and convince them to purchase the product
  • Generate quotes and bids
  • Forward qualified leads to territory reps by tasking and emails
  • Submit and follow-up on monthly advertisements and maintain sales campaigns
  • Provide customers detailed marketing material related to product requests
  • Capturing of accurate and complete information to maintain, enter and update sales & lead information in the Maximizer CRM (customer relationship management) database system
  • Initiate prompt email follow-ups from trade shows leads
  • Interface with administration on all Maximizer issues
  • Understand the needs and expectations of the customers, present key features and advantages of the company products, provide relevant solutions or alternatives in their preferred choice of products to secure new business
  • Communicate the methods of using our products and resolve customer inquiries
  • Analyze the choices and financial capacities of every customer and suggest suitable products
  • Close sales deals and achieving customer satisfaction
  • Attending sales meetings concerning sales targets, forecasts and marketing campaigns
  • Scheduling or assisting with in-house and customer site demos
  • Competitor product research and reporting
  • Trade show attendance, coordination and marketing
  • Maintain outstanding professional relationships with other staff members, customers, industry contacts and vendors necessary in the best interest of the company and in conformity with objectives and policy

Required Education, Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's or equivalent course work in Biology, Microbiology or other life science discipline. Laboratory experience a plus. Strong interpersonal and phone skills. Must have excellent & proven sales skills. Be organized with strong verbal & written communication and analytical skills. Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Quick learner, hard worker and the ability to work independently. Goal oriented with excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities. Ability to travel when necessary. Valid driver's license required.

Work within a typical professional office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noises or adverse environmental issues. Position requires the ability to use office equipment and computers. Job Title: Autoclave Product Manager
Reports To: National Sales Manager
Position is: Salary Plus Commission

Pay Structure: Base salary plus commission tied to growth and profitability of autoclave product segment. Six figure total compensation package, base salary commensurate with experience. Company offers comprehensive benefits package including 401k and health care plans.

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the National Sales Manager; the Autoclave Product Manager will guide the sales team that is charged with selling our range of laboratory autoclaves. This extends from increasing profitability of the existing autoclave line to realizing new applications and markets for the company to spur top line growth. You will help develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects to open new markets and extend our reach within our current market space. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You will work with our service department to further develop and enhance our existing service contract and IQ OQ PQ offerings. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and offer solutions with our unique range of autoclaves and associated options. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with our marketing team to define successful market penetration strategies, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. You will also serve as the internal and external champion for our autoclave range, working directly with sales representatives and key customers. You will liaise with our manufacturer in Germany in order to support sales representatives’ application based queries and provide feedback for new product / application ideas.

Position will be office based with travel required to assist sales representatives or attend conferences.

Extensive sales and equipment training will occur at our home office in Frederick, MD as well as our manufacturing site in Germany. Training period will be approximately 1 month.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with manufacturer on all technical and process related questions concerning the product segment
  • Drive sales growth of autoclave/sterilizer sales through better application understanding and identification of new markets
  • Refine companies existing IQ/OQ/PQ product offerings and drive sales growth of these product offerings
  • Interface with field representatives to further their knowledge of autoclave market
  • Construct specific sales tools highlighting unique advantages over competitors for use by field representatives
  • Provide technical assistance on unique applications and interface directly with prospective key customers
  • Communicate with prospective & existing customers on all products and services offered, emphasizing product features and benefits to produce increased sales
  • Submit and follow-up on monthly advertisements and maintain marketing campaigns with assistance from marketing department
  • Utilize CRM database to identify existing prospects that we have failed to reach
  • Scheduling in-house and customer site presentations with assistance of outside representative
  • Trade show attendance at national meetings

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Regional Field Service Engineer (RFSE) provides frontline support by resolving customers' problems and issues through technical expertise and troubleshooting. The RFSE has the opportunity to drive service revenue sales targets while ensuring strong customer contract retention rate and warranty conversion rate. RFSEs enjoy the ability to work from home, be provided with a company car, iPhone, iPad, laptop and interoffice phone. The RFSE will also be required to travel within their region and North America to support customers using their technical expertise.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide phone support to customers and assist in resolving equipment problems
  • Determine when a service visit is required
  • Coordinate with customers and schedule your own travel after being assigned a case
  • Perform quality tests, calibrations, preventive maintenance and repairs to the board level at customer locations
  • Install new equipment and train customers on use
  • Prepare parts, supplies and materials required for service calls
  • Maintain accurate and detailed service records, submit service reports for invoicing and tracking of service contract usage
  • Maintain records of expenditures and submit a monthly expense report for re-imbursement
