Job Title: Field Service Engineer 1, 2, 3

Position is: Salaried

Pay Structure: Salary $60-80K starting and negotiable based upon experience.

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer (FSE) provides frontline support by resolving customers' problems and issues through technical expertise, troubleshooting and hands on repair. We sell and service cutting edge laboratory equipment. This includes Autoclaves, Media Preparators, Anaerobic and Hypoxic Chambers, Plate pourers, Spiral Platers and Incubators. The FSE has the opportunity to drive service revenue sales targets while ensuring strong customer contract retention rate and warranty conversion rate. The FSE will be required to travel within their region and North America to support customers using their technical expertise averaging 3 days/2 nights away from home per week. This position is based from our office in Frederick, MD.

  • How to present yourself to our customers and represent yourself in a professional manner.

  • Learn to read electrical and plumbing diagrams in order to troubleshoot equipment issues.

All applicants will be tested and those with existing skills will be evaluated and placed as an FSE 1, 2 or 3 as appropriate.

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to utilize available reference materials to self-study and diagnose equipment issues.
  • Provide phone support to customers to assist in resolving equipment problems as needed
  • Coordinate with customers and schedule your own travel after being assigned a case
  • Perform quality tests, calibrations, preventive maintenance and repairs to the board level at customer locations
  • Install new equipment and train customers on use
  • Prepare parts, supplies and materials required for service calls
  • Maintain accurate and detailed service records, submit service reports for invoicing and tracking of service contract usage
  • Maintain records of expenditures and submit a monthly expense report for re-imbursement
  • Interact with customers and suppliers in a manner that promotes a positive image of yourself and the company
  • All other duties that are reasonably assigned by the employer
 

Required Education, Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

High school graduate, some college or other relevant education a plus. 2 years experience as a Field Service Technician, Maintenance Personnel in a Manufacturing Environment or experience in the Electronics/Electro-Mechanical repair field.

  • Valid driver’s license that meets K&R Technologies’ safety requirements
  • Passport or ability to obtain one.
  • Must pass a background check
  • Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing and the spoken word, in person and on the telephone; fluency in English is a must

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

Typical working environments include air-conditioned laboratories in hospitals, universities and government facilities. Occasional gowning and clean room practices required and are customer dependant.

Job Title: Production Laboratory Assistant-FT
Reports To: Production Manager
Position is: Full-Time

Salary Range:$15-$18/hr.

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the Production Manager/ Production Director, this Full-Time Production Laboratory Assistant position is responsible for supporting and working in a team environment in the Production facility. Manufacturing and testing bacteriological media and liquid solutions used primarily in microbiology laboratories to grow or dilute microbiology samples. The Production Laboratory Assistant will be trained in all aspects of the manufacturing process including running large media preparation machinery, agar plate pouring equipment and working in an aseptic environment to the highest quality standards. The Production facility is ISO 9001 compliant, and the Production Laboratory Assistant will be required to assist in documentation generation, utilization and maintenance for continuous monitoring and efforts to improve the manufacturing process in the Production facility. The Production Laboratory Assistant will also be expected to learn basic bacteriology techniques required to perform sterility and performance Quality Control testing of the components and final products manufactured for sale in the Production facility. The Production Laboratory Assistant will be expected to be energetic, professional, self-motivated to ensure the Production Department delivers consistent, sterile, high-quality products to fulfill sales orders and to ensure the Quality System is maintained and is driven to improve our ongoing service to our customers.

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the requirements of the Production schedule as directed by the Production Director or Production Manager.
  • Work within the framework of the Quality System to maintain and improve the Quality of Service we deliver to our customers
  • Generate and complete the required documentation to record and monitor the production process.
  • Check instruments and hardware on a regular basis, as outlined in the Quality System, to ensure compliance with required operations and to function within defined tolerances
  • Maintain files and logs of production document and regular checks to ensure that the equipment is still performing within specified tolerances
  • Ensure that the Production facility is regularly cleaned and sanitized to avoid build-up of biofilm and niches for bacteria to proliferate.
  • Learn basic bacteriology to perform sterility and performance testing on components and final products if needed.
  • Use Windows-based computer programs to generate reports and to communicate with the rest of the Company via e-mail.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and wear appropriate clothing to enable the performance of laboratory functions required in the Production facility.
  • Attend internal meetings when deemed appropriate by the Production Manager.
  • Assist with in-house demonstrations
  • Maintain a professional relationship with other staff members, customers, industry contacts and vendors necessary in the best interest of the company and in conformity with objectives and policy

Basic laboratory knowledge is required. The individual must be organized with strong written communication and analytical skills. The position requires self-motivated individuals with a positive and professional attitude. The Production Laboratory Assistant must be proficient in all Microsoft Office program applications. The position requires a quick learner, hard worker with the ability to work independently. Goal oriented with excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.

Job Title: Technical Sales Representative
Reports To: National Sales Manager
Position is: Salary Plus Commission

Pay Structure:Base Salary: $45K-$75K (depending on degree type) plus monthly commissions on percentage of gross sales. Commissions are uncapped. Company offers car allowance, 401k, and benefits. Realistic first year income 100K+.

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this Technical Sales Representative is an in-house and field based position.  Remote representatives will work from their established home office.  The current position opening will require locating to CA with driving accessibility to the Bay Area the most advantageous.  Territory will include CA, OR, AZ, AK, HI, WY, WA, ID, UT, NV, NM, MT, and the Canadian Provinces of BC, AB, and SK.  This position is responsible for selling a range of microbiology and cell culture related consumables and instrumentation to industries including; food, pharmaceutical, universities, government and contract laboratories.  This energetic, professional Technical Sales Representative will work to ensure sales growth consistent with the business plan, follow-up on leads, initiate cold calls to prospective customers, generate sales of new products while maintaining current deals, perform pre-sales activities including quotes, supplying sales material, demonstrations and closing sales transactions while developing strong relationships with customers.  Technical Representatives will also be responsible for instrument installations and routine service visits within the territory. 

Extensive sales and equipment training will occur at our home office in Frederick, MD. Training period will be approximately 3 months.

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Technical sales of the Microbiology International and HypOxygen product lines including processing sales leads, customer follow-ups on product requests, generating quotes, performing cold calls and maintenance of the CRM database
  • Drive sales growth of instrumentation and consumable products
  • Communicate with prospective & existing customers on all products and services offered, emphasizing product features and benefits to produce increased sales
  • Maintain qualified leads and forward consumable opportunities to inside sales
  • Submit and follow-up on monthly advertisements and maintain sales campaigns
  • Provide customers detailed marketing material related to product requests
  • Capturing of accurate and complete information to maintain, enter and update sales & lead information in the Maximizer CRM (customer relationship management) database system
  • Initiate prompt email follow-ups from trade shows leads
