8/4/2021 Eco-Med Pharmaceutical Issues Voluntary Recall of Eco-Gel 200

Eco-Med Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today commenced a voluntary recall of certain lots of its Eco-Gel 200 ultrasound gel due to bacterial contamination.

The product is also distributed as MediChoice Ultrasound Gel by Owens and Minor and Mac Medical Supply. These ultrasound gels are non-sterile and not indicated for sterile procedures.

Eco-Med is instructing all health care facilities to identify the affected products by lot number and immediately destroy or return products from affected lots to Eco-Med.

8/10/2021 Ballreich Snack Food Company Recalls Bar-B-Q Seasoned Potato Chips Because of Possible Health Risk

Ballreich Snack Food Co. Tiffin, Ohio, is recalling its 1.5oz, 2.75oz, and 7oz packages of BAR-B-Q Potato Chips due to a potential contamination with Salmonella.

The recalled BAR-B-Q seasoned Potato Chips were distributed regional at retails and convenience stores within Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Central Ohio and around Southern, MI, and Northeast, Indiana.

The potential for contamination was discovered after routine testing conducting by the seasoning provider.

8/13/2021 Avanti Frozen Foods Expands Recall of Frozen Cooked Shrimp Because of Possible Health Risk Avanti Frozen Foods Pvt. Ltd, is voluntarily expanding a prior recall issued on June 25,2021 to include certain consignments of various sizes of frozen cooked, peeled, deveined, shrimp (with some packaged with cocktail sauce) sold in various unit sizes, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Top Quality Dog Food of Hyattsville, MD is recalling “Beef HVM” 1-pound packages due to the potential of Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes.   Salmonella, Listeria, can affect animals eating the product and there is risk to humans handling contaminated products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.

The recalled “Beef HVM” was distributed in DC, MD, VA, DE, PA, MA, CT, and SC and product was distributed through mail order and direct delivery from 7/27/21 to 8/2/21.
