The clear color differentiation between pathogens allows an organism to be identified by simply glancing at the colonies grown on the media. From that point, the colony can be confirmed via MALDI-TOF with a colony picked directly from the COLOREX Orientation plate. Notably, E. coli colonies are confirmatory on this media and can be transferred directly to an AST (Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing) panel. Faster identification results in faster confirmation and reporting of an infection in a patient. This leads to significant savings in time, testing materials, and overall costs.
